ABOUT
I'm not in the business of taking pictures: I'm in the business of giving art.
I launched onto this photographic path accidentally in 2000 following my class's high school graduation when I aggressively pressured my anti-social friend (the allusive & enigmatic Ryan Geronimo) into a road trip - with the belief that THAT was what people did the summer before college: they went on road trips. And our road trip should follow a band, and so it did. We started in Montreal and by NYC I fortuitously scored a gig as a tour photographer for Sonic Youth - an engagement that lasted a decade, up until they disbanded.
My passion for photography became ignited by my passion for music.
Twenty years later I still capture the art of the live performance & find myself most comfortable shooting in terrible lighting with wild moving objects like drums bass guitars & beating hearts powering reverberating fists.
Some of the fine folks I enjoy the pleasure of capturing include the unassuming sweetheart & incredibly endearing POST MALONE, the old school WILLIE NELSON, the new school JESSIE J, the local heroes TIGER ARMY & the universal heroes PUBLIC ENEMY.
I recently expanded my repertoire way far out of my comfort zone by beginning to shoot well lit stable subjects for couples boudoir, engagements, weddings, maternity, birth photography & family/senior portraiture.
I live in Sonoma County, California, with my bandmate/husband & our two small children who inspire us to create memorable moments on a daily basis with gorgeous sights & fascinating sounds - I look forward to making your personal moments as magnificently memorable as ours.
